1. Definition

Prepainted galvanized steel coil is to paint on the galvanized steel base materials in order to prevent the materials from rust, which is more reliable than hot dip galvanized steel coils. Prepainted galvanized steel coil is produced by the process of painting organic coating on the both sides of galvanized steel surfaces, usually with primer plus paint on top and back with primer according to customer’s different requirements. It has good characteristics of corrosion resistance, proper decoration etc. Usually prepainted galvanized steel coils are used in production of roofing sheets, sandwich panels, decoration panels and many other construction projects.

GI coils are produced through a preocess of metal coating which involves passing cold rolled coils through a kettle containing molten zinc. This process ensures adhesion of zinc to the surface of the steel sheet. The zinc layer provides excellent corrosion resistance and prolong service life.
Hot dipped galvanized products are widely used in household appliances, transport, container manufacturing, roofing, base material for pre-painting, ducting and other construction related applications.

GL is more popular in recent years, especially popular in Philipine due to the merits of PPGL, which suitable for the enviroment there well.

Firstly, the corrosive resistance of the hot-dip alu-zinc coated steel sheet is twice to fifth times as mush as that of the hot-dip zinc- coated base metal.

Secondly, it can satisfy the processing requirements of rolling, coiling and others processes alike.

Thirdly, the color won't change while continuously or intermittently working with an ambient temperature up to 316℃.Neither serious oxygenation nor oxide scale might appear while continuously or intermittently working with an ambient temperature up to 490℃.

Thirdly, the heat and the light reflected are respectively twice as much as those of hot-dip zinc steel sheet, and its reflectivity is more than 0.75, exceeding 0.65 (required by the EPA Energy Star Standard), which is an ideal construction material of saving energy.
